Everything About Android P – New Version, Features

Android as an operating system always keeps on updating itself. The latest Android update is called the Android P.

One noticeable feature about all the versions of Android is that they follow the A-Z pattern and all their names are decided in a similar manner.

Starting from Android Cupcake, donut, Eclairs, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice cream sandwich, jellybean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo and now finally Android P has been confirmed as the successor to Android Oreo, which is the present version of Android.

Android P isn’t developed yet and the developers are using suggestions from users and expert to make the android P more stable. Even though there have been many speculations about the name of Android P but no official name came out yet.

For now, we call it Android P. The Beta version of Android P is available to users of Google Pixel 2 XL and other selected Smartphone. This version will be based on Android 9.0.

Android P is the new Android version and it is believed to be highly optimized. The beta version has been launched for users to experience the latest version and suggest improvements to be made.

Presently the beta version is available for Google Pixel 2 and other selected Smartphones like premium class phones of Samsung.

Android P Launch Date

The release date of Android P hasn’t been decided yet but Android usually launches its new versions in midsummer, like Android Oreo and Nougat which was launched on August the previous years.

So, android P is expected to be launched somewhere between July to August. The Beta version of Android P was launched on March 8 this year.

Rumored Names

Enthusiasts have been speculating the name for Android P for a long time now.

Some of the common names which came upon internet are Pineapple, Pineapple Cake, Pineapple Pie, Pie, Profiterole, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin Pie, Pancake, Popsicle, Pecan Pie etc.

The most relevant one is Android Pineapple as the Google teaser had this year’s I/O location with a puzzle-based street view and pineapple cake was featured as one of the items in the puzzle.

So we may assume it to be either Android Pineapple cake or Android pineapple.

Android P Features

One best feature which you instantly notice in the developer’s preview is that all the icons are round which makes the phone look clean. 2018 as we all know is going to be the year of Notch, and the Android P offers Notch support which means you may add notch if you like one.

Developers can now stream two or more cameras simultaneously. Another best feature of Android P is that now you can read, reply and chat with anyone right from your notification panel.

This feature also comes with quick reply suggestions. Android P comes with NFC support, which can be used when making payments through smart card.

Android P supports HDR from Google apps like YouTube and plays movies, which means the phone is capable of streaming up to 2k videos.

The security has been given priority in this version which restricts background apps from using a microphone, camera, and other sensors.

The volume which was displayed on the top in all previous versions of Android is going to change now as the volume bar is now displayed at the right-hand side near the actual volume button.

This small change will help in single-handed operations. Long pressing the lock key will make a box pop out with a new option added which is screenshot along with lock Switch off and reboot.

I hope you’re as excited as me to experience the android P 9.0. This version is expected to be launched in summer this year. Android P is fast has fewer bloatware and highly optimized. Another best thing about this version is that security has been given main priority, which is much needed at the present time with apps such as UC browser and Facebook constantly trying to steal your data. The Beta version just gives an insight into the version; the main features are yet to be unraveled with its launch.
